What Is Medication Management?

The CQC (Care Quality Commission) references NICE's guideline NG67, defining medicines support (medication management) as "any support that enables a person to manage their medicines."

At its core, effective medication management is simply taking the right medicine, at the right dose, at the right time.

Our management team brings over 40 years of combined experience to help guide this important aspect of our service. As well as our expert Care Workers being fully trained to provide careful medication management. We also collaborate with GPs, community nurses, and other healthcare professionals along the way, where required.

Who Is Medication Management For?

Medication management suits any adult taking medication under a healthcare professional's guidance. This could be a short-term prescription, like antibiotics, or a long-term treatment for chronic conditions.

It's especially helpful for older adults or those with cognitive challenges to make sure their treatment stays on track. We are here to assist as little or as often as you or your loved one would like, as per the care plan.

Whether you or your loved one would benefit from full support, or simply a helping hand, we can come up with a plan together.

How Can Medication Management Benefit Older People?

As we age, managing medication can become tricky. Memory lapses or confusion might lead to missed doses or errors, particularly for those with conditions like dementia. Getting a bespoke care package can not only protect the well-being of an elderly individual, but it also helps them live independently.

Medication Management From Chamomile Care

Our Care Workers can provide medication support with precise timing and simplicity. But don't just take our word for it, here's what Barbara P (Daughter of Client) has said about us:

"Throughout registration, assessment, and care, everybody at Chamomile Care was professional and very thorough… they explained everything very well, ensuring that my father was always consulted… his needs were met brilliantly and the engagement with him was excellent… I would have no hesitation in recommending Chamomile Care to others and will be sure to use them again as the necessity arises."
